PB & Joy Project

PB & JOY Project jars

PB & Joy Project works with food banks and schools to give kids living in food insecurity more of what they need: food for their bodies AND food for their souls.

By wrapping the 18 oz plastic jars of peanut butter going home with kids through the Backpack Program in schools with positive, encouraging messages we’re reminding them of the valuable, beautiful people they are every time they see that jar. The more they see it, the more they’ll feel it. And the more they feel it, the more they’ll believe it.

According to Feeding America, 21.6% of kids in the U.S. live in food insecurity.  Here in Clark County, the home of The Joy Team, 25.4% of kids live in food insecurity.

Beginning August 2012, we’re partnering with SHARE  and their Backpack Program to place PB & Joy (monthly) in as many of the 1,300 backpacks they give every week to school-age children in Clark County, Washington as possible.

Please join us by donating peanut butter (only 18 oz plastic jars for backpacks, please), or money to buy peanut butter, to The Joy Team.

You can take your donation of 18 oz plastic jars of peanut butter to any of the following locations:
PB & Joy Project is a project of The Joy Team made possible by partnering with Share, Vancouver Parks and Recreation and Taylor Made Labels, who have generously donated the labels for PB & Joy Project. All the messages on the labels are drawn by members of The Junior Joy Team (kids ages 6 – 13).

We are a group of women and wine called Grape-ful Women who were established in Sept 2012. Our focus is women, friendship, wine and we support charities in our area. We would like to invite someone in your organization to talk to us about the Joy Team. We are planning an event for March 24(Sunday) from 2-5pm at Moulton Falls Winery. At that event we expect to have 30 women who will all bring an 18oz jar of peanut butter. We are hoping you could bring the labels and we will assemble them at that time. Please let me know if you can come. Thanks so much.
